Just spent a Sunday working.... on work stuff! NOT FAIR!!!!!
As I was wrapping up my report this evening, I suddenly had a flashback to my high school years: leaving all my homework until the very last moment of the weekend was a big ritual of mine. I'd come home on Friday and throw my backpack in a corner of my room not to be given a second thought while I shamelessly enjoyed my Friday evening and my Saturday and sometimes even my Sunday afternoon hanging out with my friends. By Sunday evening I had to wake up and fess up to the fact that my books and notes were still waiting for me..... Then, while my brothers would enjoy the last hours of the weekend watching a movie with my mom or playing video games, I was left frowning and scowling while I begrudgingly finished my book reports or math exercises.
It had been a very very long time since I had anything that even remotely resembled the word "homework" ruin my weekend.
But lately work has been piling up at the office and working longer hours during the week isn't enough right now. So this weekend I halfheartedly brought my laptop home with me to get some head-start on next week's heavy agenda.
Except that old habits die hard.
The moment I walked in the door on Friday evening, I shoved my laptop in the next room and closed the door telling myself I would come back to it later.
And then I forgot all about it. Or perhaps I subconsciously intentionally forgot about it. Anyway, I shamelessly enjoyed my weekend by indulging in some good ol' Star Ac on Friday evening, sleeping in till 2pm on Saturday, having friends over for dinner in the evening and catching up on overdue Dexter and Californication episodes this morning with hubby.
Each time my laptop crossed my vision I stubbornly turned a blind eye and brushed the guilt feeling with a mild "I'll get working on it later".
So here I am, Sunday evening, no more "later" left to hide behind of. Here I am, wrapping up my report for tomorrow's meeting and jealously looking over at hubby while he lavishly enjoys his last hours of the weekend.....
No fair!

I used to do the same thing in high school...enjoy Friday and Saturday only to be left scrambling on Sundays!
Unfortunately with my work now I work 7 days a week.
Californication is so dirty but for I can't help but like it. Can't say I regularly follow it, but if it's on, I won't change the channel.
jeje era epidemia, yo hacia lo mismo!!! o peor aun, iba haciendo mi tarea en el coche la manana del Lunes... eso si era el super colmo!!!
I am the exact same way. I bring that laptop home with such good intentions...it just never works out in the end.
