Hubby and I took a long walk in Paris today. I mean a 6-hour-long walk. It was such a beautiful day and it'd been such a long time since we had last gone walking hand in hand without a particular destination in mind in this city (which is something we used to do pretty often) that it just felt like the right thing to do on a lovely Saturday afternoon.
I took several pictures throughout the day. So many and so different that I had a hard time deciding which one to post. Should it have been the one with the two utterly parisian girls having an improvised picnic on the Canal de Saint Martin? Or the one I took at the corner at the Place de la Republique with all the haussmannian buildings overlooking the café-bistrots on the streets below and a French flag wavering in the wind in the background? Or perhaps the one of the quite emblematic Au Rocher de Cancale restaurant on the rue de Montorgueil which I took in both Sepia and normal colors and that depending on which you're looking at you get a wiff of a different era? Or perhaps the one of the extravant clock that is hanging outside the Louvre's Postal Office?
In the end I decided to post this picture which I took inside a hidden gallerie off the rue de Saint-Denis. The gallerie is filled with pretty little shops on both sides and you can spend a good hour just window shopping. Also, you can't really see it but at the end of the hall these guys had some sort of mini golf tournament going on and everytime someone got a point they would cheer and clap and bang on their guitars (yep, they had guitars and everything!) and the sound would go thundering throughout the otherwise silent gallerie. It was pretty surreal but funny enough quite fitting for the general ambiance of the place.

Wow that's so pretty. Paris is so photogenic. So is Mexico. Some places are just so full of character.
I had a lot of problems deciding on photos too but in the end decided the one that best represented my day was the best choice, not necessarily always the favorite though.
You can put the rest up on Flickr and post a link to all the beautiful outtakes;)
Pictures are like Frito Lay chips, no one can have just one! That is a lovely photo, it sure makes me want to see more.
Misschris and Canucka: Thank you ladies! Paris IS very photogenic.... I've never been to SLP (and I was 2 when I last went to Cancun) but I can vouch for Puebla also being a lovely city. Hubby took some really neat pics during our trips to Mexico. If you're interested, you can check them on his Flickr page:

Also, thanks Misschris for the Flickr idea. I'm thinking I might post all the pics at the end of the 30d project... ;)
