Ok, so if you've seen my favorite links list (to the right) you've probably noticed I have a soft spot for a mexican group called Mana.
Almost everyone in my generation grew up listening/dancing/dating/breaking-up to such classics as "Rayando el Sol" or "Oye mi amor".
15 years later the band is still going strong and still got what it takes to make a whole auditorium dance during the Grammy Awards of 2000 (with a little help from a certain Carlos Santana ;)) -- don't forget to look for Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith boogy-ing to "Corazon Espinao"...
Ok, ok.... granted, Carlos Santana and his band kindda steal the show... so instead check out the Grammy Awards of 2006 and tell me Mana doesn't bring down tha house!! ;)
Ok, enough Mana therapy for one day. ;)

Lotsa fun... but you didn't mention Juan Luis Guerra, who obviously added something to the second video! Not that Maná was any less sensational, just wanted to give Guerra his due too!
FYI - just think you check this out if you want to see an excellent video - just something refreshing if you will...

interesting about maná / mana and its different meanings... I was thinking about that too... you know manna (which is actually an English word) comes from the Hebrew of the same pronunciation (different alphabet of course) and means 'food' or 'portions' in Hebrew - you've heard about Gd giving the Jews manna in the desert afer they escaped from Egypt. It also has another meaning in English as in the saying of manna from Heaven which is like a gift from Heaven - something you've wanted or needed so much and then suddenly get unexpectedly... I think that's the meaning the group Maná was going for, because I think maná in Spanish is manna (English!) Could be wrong though.
Actually mom, it's Sir Twotech who got it right... if you go to youtube and type in "Maná - Entrevista en el Show de Cristina (Parte 1 -3)" you'll see where their band name comes from.
P.S. I think Christina didn't get the fact that they DIDN'T get their name from the Hebrew definition... but whatever... she's too annoying anyway.
=)
Angel de Amor is one my jogging playlist on my iPod right now!
Angel de Amor is one of my favorite Mana songs too! I also carry it around with me all the time on my Ipod but I can't say that I do a lot of jogging... (I probably should though!) :)
