So what is the new fashion trend this season when it comes to bags ?
Is it the "Charlotte Gainsbourg 24h" by Gérard Darel ? Chic, hip and sooo parisian ?.... Nope ! guess again !
Well, then is it the "Speedy" by Louis Vuitton ? Elegant, refined yet a perfect match with jeans? .... Wrong again! Last try :
Can it be the "Birkin" by Hermès : Timeless, classical and so exclusive the waiting list to acquire one has over passed the year-span of a human being ? .... ehm... no. Not it either.
Today's must-have bag is the Monoprix re-usable polyester shopping bag. I personally have two in my collection already : Bubble-gum Pink and Feisty Red.
They are easy to acquire (.80 cents at any Monoprix cashier counter) incredibly practical (all your groceries fit and you can hang it over your arm!) easy to carry one on you at all times (you can easily fold them into a small pack the size of a cell phone) and come in a wide range of colors.
Everyone who is anyone (in the ecological social spheres of course) has at least one and slowly but surely they are popping up on the arms of ladies (and a fair amount of gents!) all over the streets of Paris (spotted three on the way home last night!).
Although I doubt the Monoprix sac recyclable will be practical for people who a daily visit to Wal-mart includes coming out of the store with a whole caddie full of groceries (wink at minshap) maybe, just maybe, Wal-mart and Mega will one day design their own haute-couture re-usable groceries bag enticing people not only to be environmentally conscious but also to consume less...

OH YES!! PLEASE! PLEASE! I want one of those for my b'day (actually, better make it two for the way i grocery-shop!). I promise to publicize their ecological benefits (as well as their 'chic-ness') in all the stores I shop at (the great colors should make that part easy!) and do my best to get the message across to the managers!
