Heavy week coming up

It seems the unions were not very happy with the stunt Sarkozy pulled on them last month. So this time they've come back and they've brought a few friends with them.

November is already being dubed the Black Month. This is how the agenda is looking so far :

Tuesday Nov 13th:
- The Students Union association calls students to block the railway stations (!!) to show their support to :
- the The National Railroad Company which will begin a "reconductable strike" (meaning they can stall it for as long as they like) at 8pm. They're protesting: The reform of their special retirement regimes.

Wednesday Nov 14th:
- The National Gas and Electricity companies will be on strike. Protesting: Reform of their special retirement regimes.
- The National Public Transportation will begin a 24h strike. Protesting: Reform of their special retirement regimes.
- The Opéra of Paris will be on a "reconductable" strike as well as the Comèdie Française. Protesting: Reform of their special retirement regimes.

Tuesday Nov 20th:
- Public servers will be on strike/manifestation AND ask that students and teachers join them (!!). Protesting: The Gvt's decision to not replace 11,200 positions (people leaving on retirement)
- The Postal and the National Telephone company are going on strike: Protesting: Employment, public service, work conditions and reforms. (???)

Wednesday Nov 21st:
- The Tabac shop owners will be manifestating nationally. Protesting: A law forbidding smoking in public places.

Thursday Nov 22nd:
- The LCL bank calls on employees to go on strike. Protesting: Work conditions and salary increase.

Thursday Nov 29th:
- The Jurists and Magistrate will be on strike/manifestation. Protesting: Reform of the National geographic chart.

Does any one else find this simply too hilarious???

Heck my PC in the office starting acting up this morning .... I might go on strike too!

Peace out and wish us luck!!!

Sooo, no trains, no gas or electric, no opera, no teachers, no mail, no phone, no banks, no judges, AND no tobacco? Wow, sounds like it's time for a vacation if you are living in France! That's an example of unions gone too far, good luck getting through the Black Month!
