Rugby, Wii and Poker....take your pick!

Ok, for those of you wondering.....France lost to Argentina 17 to 12... not a great way to kick off the World Cup if you ask me, specially if you're hosting it....

But the good news is that despite my initial aprehensions concerning Rugby, I actually enjoyed watching the game and even understood (part) of what all the grunting and the huffing and the twirling is all about! So, although I'll never be able to put it right up there with soccer when it comes to the sports "that make me tick", it was definitely great fun watching the game and getting all hyped up with the melées (group hugs) and the plaquages (flooring the opponent)...

Guess we'll have to see how the WC turns out... so far the favorites are New Zeland (76-14 against Italy), Australia (91-3 against Japan) South Africa (59-7 against Samoa) and England (28-10 against the US) ..oh and of course our good friends the Argentinians.... so stay tuned....

Meanwhile, another interesting game kept us pretty busy this weekend : the Wii. Ok, so maybe to many of you it's only a video game "with a twist"... but it's the twist that's so adictive!!! We went to our friends' Sylvain and Marie for an evening of BBQ and "baby congratulations" (Marie annonced us she's expecting their fist baby .... in a month!) and spent the rest of the evening jumping up and down and twirling and swinging those Wii controls well into the wee hours of the morning...

That's the great thing about the Wii.... contrary to other video games, with the Wii you're actually "working out" while playing (the controls are interactive so when you're playing a game of baseball or tennis you actually are throwing or swinging!) and since up to 4 people can play at once it's a great way to spend an evening with your friends!

Then Sunday came... we had planned to go over to Sophie's for poker night... but Marion and Jean weren't available and Poker with only three players is not a lot of fun... so instead André and I stayed in all day which was ok too 'cause we got to just veg around the house, watch TV, catch up on our reading, listen to music..... pretty much hang out... very soothing way to end the weekend.

That doesn't mean poker is out though .... we are planning to play next weekend... only this time I'm inviting a few friends from work .... we'll have to see how that goes ! :s
