Don’t us gals look cute in our matching seat belts?

We started out Saturday morning at the Manqueterre Park which is a national reserve for wild birds and spent the entire morning and early afternoon walking the 6km tour through the park stopping at all the lookouts to check out the different kind of birds that habit this beautiful place and simply taking in the amazing view and the peace and quite.

And as you can see, André and Jean were more than enjoying themselves ….

After a quick rest at the parc’s terrase while drinking in the sun …

… we went to the near by beachtown of Cayaux sur Mer (pebbles on the shore). Although I didn’t feel like dipping a single one of my spolied-by-the-warm-caribbean-ocean-
toes in the freezing Atlantic water, Marion, Jean, Sophie and André did enjoy a litle stroll along the beach shore.

Then it was back to Marion’s place for a nice game of poker before heading out for dinner.
Sunday morning we decided it would be nice to cap the weekend off with a good old barbecue….
so while the men got the grill going (yep, that is them cutting a log of wood with a saw) ….

…. us ladies tended to more tedious tasks….

All our hard work paid off…. The BBQ was delicious and even the rain waited for us to finish lunch before pouring down.

All in all it was a lovely weekend and it sure charged our batteries to get out of Paris for a while.
:D
