It was all worth it !

I know, I know ! (Thanks minshap for reminding me I've been neglecting this blog!)

The Mana concert was FABULOUS ! Ok, so I did take almost 10 hours to get to Oviedo (1h bus ride from Paris to Airport -> 2hrs wait at the airport -> 2hrs flight to Madrid -> 3hrs wait at the airport -> 1hr flight to Oviedo) but it was SO worth it.

Jorge picked me up at the airport and we went straight to Gijon where we took a quick tour of the city before heading out to the the concert sight which had been set up in a stadium. It was two hours before the concert was supposed to start and already people were pouring in.

After about an hour standing around waiting for the show to start while people kept coming in, we heard great rumbling and it suddently started to rain so quick and strong that for a while we were afraid that the concert would be canceled ! We all huddled together with our umbrellas (those of us who'd thought of bringing one) and tried to stay as dry as possible.

To our great relief the rain stopped as suddenly as it had started and shortly after the lights went on and the concert started, right on time! We all started straining our necks to see if we could spot Fher, Alex, Sergio and Juan as they came on stage.

The show was incredible, not only did Mana play fantastic both their new and old songs which kept us all jumping and singing our lungs out for more than 2 and a half hours, but the overall energy in the stadium was incredible (we were 25,000 people and another 5,000 outside the stadium who hadn't been able to get tickets -sold out-). Also the show included some amazing light, music and fireworks and even a gigantic waterfall !!!

All in all it was one fantastic show. Even the 2hr wait to get out of the parking lot and the 30min drive back to Jorge's place in our soaking jeans and shoes didn't dampen our spirits.

And as I lay to sleep that night at 3am (after getting up at 3:45am the day before) I couldn't help to smile and think : Man! It's great to be a MANAtico ! :D

wow! they played for 2 1/2 hours??? INCREDIBLE! I thought those kinds of concerts were a thing of the past! Lucky for you it was so worth it; otherwise, you might have gotten back with a completely different attitude toward having to battle jetlag and going back to work in a sleep-starved state! Glad it was so FINE!!! MORE PICS!!!
