We arrived in Jerusalem yesterday, and although the trip started out on a sour note (almost missing our plane in Paris, bratty kid kicking our seats throughout a 3hr flight, lost -and found- luggage at Ben Gourion airport, jewish taxi refusing to take us to our hotel in the arab side of town...) being here is absolutely amazing!!
How often can you say: "our hotel is right up the road from where the Virgin Mary is buried" or "let's go back to that fallafel place next to Mount Temple" or "if we don't hurry, we're going to be late for services at the foot of the Wailing Wall" ?
This city is over 3000 years and some parts look that age! And going from the Catholic to the Jewish to the Muslim quarters in the Old City is really interesting because even though, from what we can see, these communities dont necessarily interact that much, they do coexist in a peaceful, respectful way, in what is a very small, very enclosed and very very old piece of land.
Will update again soon, but in the meantime....Shabbat Shalom!!

Shabbat Shalom! Oh dear, it's so hard to say this right (which is why I've now removed two previous attempts)... Just say it min... okay, if you have the chance, could you just leave a note with the Kaddish, from me, in one of the crevices in the Wall? Just because, and I know he'll understand.
Oh Fned!!! that is awesome!! I am looking forward reading about your trip, it sounds amazing!!!
Did you say "3 hours"? It's a small world alright... if you're in France! Have a great time.
