Day 30 - THE END

Ok, here it is... the end of the line for this project. It took longer than I expected but I'm glad I did make it to the end (eventually).

As I was going through my Project30d file trying to decide which pic to post for the last entry I realized there were several photos I'd taken over the course of the past 30(something) days that didn't make the cut on the day they were taken, but that I still wanted to post... so for the last 30d entry I've decided not to post a single picture, but the top 10 that still deserved a special mention.

Here goes:

In complement to the The Fuga post, this is also a common sight in Paris. Once or twice a week, green-clad men actually spray water on the sidewalks all over town in order to clean them!

This is quite the usually sight on the very "branché" (read: hip) Canal Saint Martin on a typical sunny Satuday. People having picnics on the banks of the canal, or roller skating by... really a nice way to just chill in Paris, when the weather allows for it.

Ahhhh!!! What would Paris be like without its terrasses? People in this city are obsessed with eating "outdoors" when there's so much of a hint of sun light... even if this means eating on the sidewalk with people walking by only 2 inches away from your salad.

I really liked this picture although you can't see the woodblock prints that well. I smuggle-shot this picture during our visit of the Guimet museum. The prints were so lovely and beautifully presented.

I really like this picture. It's of our "loggia"... You can't really tell well but this is the reason we bought our apartment. The loggia, is basically what used to be an open balcony but which was closed by the previous owners and know makes for a lovely little corner in our bedroom where we enjoy sitting in the morning reading and drinking our coffee.

More extravagant buildings from the "jungle" that is the neighborhood where I work.

I never got around to posting about moving trucks in Paris. This is how you get furniture up to an upper story in this city. The first time I saw this I was so afraid the crane would brake and the refrigerator that was being lifted would fall on my head as I was passing by....

I really didn't want to post twice about the metro in Paris... but living here you can't help it. It's such an intricate part of the Parisian lifestyle. This pic is of the state-of-the-art Line 14. The first and only metro to be driven automatically (no driver in the car)... all doors are open and shut by synchronized computers and all the subway stations have protecting glass doors that prevent people from jumping on the tracks (metro suicides are quite frequent during the cold months).

Yes people! I finally did get my shot at that open-door market!!! Hurray for me!!!

These portraits were part of a collection I went to check out during my vacation week. All the pics where taken by the mythical Harcourt Studios and they were simply amazing. BTW, is it me or is one of Carole Bouquet's boobs being immortalized just as much as her face?

Nice end to the 30-day photolog. I like your loggia because you get good light from over your shoulder when you read, which is absolutely the best thing you can do for your eyes, and also because the chairs look comfy... though I'd need a small table between them to put my coffee cup down on once in a while...

Cool cool pics!! Your apartment looks cozy.

However, the fridge being lifted on the ladder scares the crap out of me.

I cannot imagine if something that big fell down...

Minshap: Funny you mention it, we did used to have a table between the chairs, but we put it in the living room for practical purposes.

Ale: Thanks! :D

Mariella: It's my favorite of the pack too! ;)

That girl: I usually react around those cranes the same way I do around ladders. I don't go under them under ANY circumstances. LOL
