Ok, I warn you before hand, this post is going to be of no cultural / educational / inspirational or even motivational value. This post is going to be about Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.
I'm sorry, but that show totally has me hooked. I never watched it when it came out and now I'm seeing the whole thing, one season at a time, for the first time.
I've just begun Season 5 and last night I almost cried. WHY DID THEY GET RID OF RILEY????!!!?????!!!!!!
In my opinion, Riley Finn was one of the best hearthrobs in the history of TV. He was tall, handsome, intelligent, funny, caring, brave and had the most amazing manly voice!!! HOW COULD THE BdVS PEOPLE GET RID OF HIM!!!
They had us putting up with poor, lovesick, tortured, always looking like he wants to cry, Angel for three entire seasons and all he inspired was pity... Buffy had to come in and save his butt almost in every single episode... (she only had to save Riley 2 times and even then, he did some serious butt kicking himself)...
And then comes along Riley and you finally have a guy that is sensitive enough to love the Slayer and still be brave and strong enough to kick serious demon hiney just as good as she does.
But noooooooooooooooooo.... they had to go off and get rid of him!
And now they have the whole Spike thing going on... what is up with that? Just because the guy has platinum dyied hair and a british accent does NOT make him handsome or even attractive! He doesn't come close to Mr Finn!
Granted, the show's producers didn't kill Riley off or made him "evil" so that we were glad he left the show... at the last minute they had Buffy realizing her mistake and running to catch that helicopter before it ships Riley off to Guatemala on a secret mission for the army..... getting there 5 seconds too late.
Why didn't Riley turn his head and see her yelling out his name from the ground? WHY, LORD, WHY ?!?
I could have thrown something at the TV right then.
Ok, had to get that out of my system. Back to work now.
Fned.

Yeah um I so don't watch the show but wanted to give you the link to a blog you might find interesting.
It's about a Canadian woman who moved to France, married a Frenchman, and then moved to Italy.
There's lots of French/Canadian/Italian references and I thought you could relate (just like I can...plus I'm half Italian so there you go).
Here it is:

Haha, I don't watch that show either...but I totally understand your passion for a T.V. series. I am the SAME with the show Scrubs. It's the best show on the face of the earth, soooooo funny. And I get just as into it as you do with Buffy :)
I know a lot of people that are dedicated Buffy followers but for some reason I just never got into it. Actually I don't think I've even seen it once.
And I'm totally going to visit Mexico Way's link. I love expat blogs :)
Now you can see how I could obsess over Ben and Felicity... or over Juan del diablo and Mónica... and that's the reason why I think long and hard before I actually embark on either of those 100+ episode marathons...
We (Husband and I) love Buffy! The series is well written and engaging. Our ongoing joke at home is¨"What would Buffy do?". I haven´t watched the series for awhile (we own all the dvds and do a Buffy matathon when we do watch it). Angel, the spin off is no where as good. Yes, even us old folk like Buffy. Husband has this theory that the show is seen through the eyes of Zander.

Theresa
Mexico Way: Hello miss! Thanks for Caroline's link! Her life seems incredibly interesting, am reading it and finding a lot of funny anecdotes about her life in France that definitely strike home! :D
Mamacita: I looooooooooove Scrubs. It's just a shame we get the french dubbed version, but it's still hilarious! I swear to god, I'm so glad I work... if I ever turn into a stay-at-home wife/mother you might as well start calling me Mrs Couch Potato.
Minshap: Now I see where I get it from. Gee, thanks!
Theresa: FINALLY a fellow Buffy fan! I can't believe I never watched this show before... I can't stop thinking how "avant-garde" it must have been for it's time when it aired. In any case, I definetly have my "what would Buffy do" moments too!!!!
