Day 1, 2008: Calm despite hurracaine

2008 started out for us as a lazy day... everyone came and went and did pretty much what they wanted today... it was as if we each decided we would let the others start their own year which ever way they wanted: eating what they wanted and when they wanted, watching tv or sitting at the computer for as long as they wanted, going out with friends or staying in in their pijamas, etc. I love relaxing days like this and it seems to me pretty appropriate to start a year this way....specially since you don't yet know what the year in question actually has in store for you in the next 364 days......

... the only thing that is preventing us from actually calling this January 1st a "nothing day" is the darn hurracaine (at least that's what it feels like) that's been blowing outside since early afternoon. It's amazing how strong the winds have been blowing all day and still going even though it's 11:30pm already... several times the windows have banged against their frames and the poor dogs out in the patio have not set foot outside their doggie house all afternoon.... the winds are so loud that you can hear them roaring over the TV or the dishes being washed, or music being played or even my lil' bro blasting video after video on youtube.....

I've tried to find news reports on the web to figure out what's causing this incredible phenomenon but so far the only thing I came accross is an article about how temperatures are going to drop in the next couple of days and a few states will get 40 km/hr winds.... now that's an understatement!

I only hope this doesn't mean 2008 is going to be a bumpy year.... I can be supersticious like that sometimes..... :s

Wanted to wish you a happy 2008 Fned! Don't think that the winds are going to bring you a bumpy year...you just have to imagine that they are blowing bigger and better things your way :)
