What ever happened to that awesome show "MTV Unplugged"!!!
This show used to be an absolute must when I was growing up and quite frankly I don't think MTV has produced anything as good ever since. I don't know if it's still on in the US but I sure do miss hearing my favorite bands play "unplugged".

For this post, I tried searching for the universal unplugged classics on Youtube... you know the ones, "Nothing else matters" from Metallica, "Smells like teen spirit" from Nirvana and the ultimate unplugged song: "Layla" from Eric Clapton.
For some unknown reason, all of these videos have been ... unplugged..... from youtube.
Sad.

I think MTV only does reality shows now. Sadly, I'm old enough to remember when it first came out and how exciting it was to see music videos. I think Michael Jackson may have been on continuous loop.
Shakira, the song "Tu," on MTV Unplugged = the moment I fell in love with music.
I'm pretty sure I've seen MTV Unplugged aired here in the US recently. I haven't really given them much attention, but its definitely still on. Might be the only decent thing they show though....it really IS all "reality" crap these days :(
hehe I agree, they show mostly weird "reality" shows... I dont even bother. I had my CD of Shakira, La Ley and *glup* del Sanzs too.. aaah I loved them so much, I listened to them until they were all scratched... good ol' times!
Paulita: ehehe... I used to be addicted to MTV growing up as well... and this was way before all the reality crap they have now... and Michael Jackson's videos were THE BOMB!!!! ;)
Kyle: OMG that song just came on randomly on my iPod the other day in the subway and I seriously broke down in tears!!! I LOVE THAT SONG!!!
Vanessa: Oh!! It's good to know MTV Unplugged is still on. Nothing beats live music. As for the reality crap... same here... France's MTV is so much worse because you get the crappiest reality shows .. DUBBED!!!! argh!!!
