The journey has always been about laughing together, loving each other, seeking adventure, believing in our dreams and making a difference...... but sometimes we forget.
This video just proves Governor Palin simply has more tac, class, integrity and honesty than any other politician running for office. As far as laughingstock the world can take it and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. I'm no fan of McCain or Obama. Sara Palin has been the only bright spot on this election. JMHO
Anonymous said... fned said concerning Prop. 8...I quote "The one thing I, for one, know is this: EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO FIND HAPPINESS."
YES!!! But not at the expense of others! Does a pedofile, rapist, or any other sexual perverted deviant have the right to happiness at the expense of others? I think not. Don't be fooled by the politically correct crowd! Nature itself teaches us its not normal as much as they seek to sugar coat this evil. Remember all evil needs is for good people to stand by and do nothing! Vote YES on Prop. 8

Reasons I WONT be voting for S. Palin: - Her husband wanted Alaska to quit being a star in the United State’s Flag - Her government is tarnished with cases of Abuse of power (Troopergate), Bribe (Ted Stevens) and Corruption (TransCanada bid) - She’s a wealth spreader (Windfall profits tax) - She thinks the V.P. controls de Senate - She’s not familiar with John McCain’s 26 year Senate track record - She can’t recognize she’s being pranked by a phony “Foreign Leader”, even after said learder mentions how good his wife is in bed and compliments SP for being featured in “Hustler” - She can’t remember the name of the Prime Minister of the country neighbouring her own state (and which she supposedly conducts enough business with that provides her with foreign expertise credentials) - She seems to think Vladimir Poutine is still Russia’s sitting president (same as above) - She can’t give a coherent interview
Reasons you WILL be voting for S. Palin: - She’s been the only bright spot on this election
I am glad we’ve got our priorities in this election straight. Good luck tomorrow.
First of all, if you’d read the REST of my comment you would have noticed I mentioned a very intelligent thing once said by a very intelligent man: “El respeto al derecho ajeno, es la paz”. I’ll save you the google translation search, it means: Respecting the rights of others, leads to Peace”. This applies to EVERYONE. So yes, EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO FIND HAPPINESS just as EVERYONE AS A RIGHT TO HAVE THEIR RIGHTS RESPECTED. In the case where one cancels out the other, well, that’s what law enforcement is for. But this is not the case of gay and lesbian couples wanting to find happiness together as it harms absolutely no one else.
I hope this answers your question.
As for comparing the gay community to rapists and paedophiles, I consider it beneath me to even reply to such an ignorant argument.
Scary stuff. Might be funnier if it wasn't a look at our possible future if this election doesn't play out correctly. Thanks for posting Fned!! You rock in your anon responses!! Anon put your name on your posts because they carry no weight if you don't own up to your words.
Oh no, crazy anonymous came here too! I deleted that exact same comment re: racists and pedophiles because while I am open to debate on my blog, I am not open to hiding behind the internet and using my space to spread your crazy talk.
On a "brighter" note, LOVED your list of reasons to vote for someone. It's sad that there are people who genuinely see "being a bright spot" or "being personable" as qualifications to run our country. And then they have the gall to call themselves patriots - don't you think the US deserves a bit better?!
Here's 2 books (Dreams of my Father & The Audacity of Hope) your Obama wrote have you taken the time to consider anything he's written in them I'll post some of his excerpts.
From Dreams of My Father:'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.' From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.' From Dreams of My Father:'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.' From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.' From Dreams of My Father:'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'
And FINALLY the Most Damning one of ALL of them!!! From Audacity of Hope:'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'
Why is all of this going unnoticed by the media???? They send 1000 reporters to Alaska to dig up something on Sarah palin and they have this right in front of their eyes! Probably the same reason it goes unnoticed by you. This clearly shows whats really in his heart and mind!!! Yet all you liberals continue to ignore facts of this mans true beliefs. Why is that. Why can't you see him for what he truely is? Its like you're all turning a blind eye to what he has said!
I've already stated I do not endorse either candidate McCain or Obama. I stated I would endorse Palin, but she's not running for President.
Having been recently misquoted myself (see my comment to Anon 2 above), dude, did you HONESTLY think I wasn't going to factcheck your comment?
And do you honestly think that the thousands of millions of readers that made Obama's books stay at the top of the Bookselling charts for months and months would turn a blind eye if indeed he'd written what you claim?
Here's THE real deal on your so called quotes:
*~*~*~*~*~*~
Summary of the eRumor: A collection of quotes from two books written by Senator Barack Obama that try to highlight his attitudes about race and Islam.
The Truth: All but two of the quotes seem to be accurate, but are taken out of context.
One of the quotes does not exist and the one about Islam is fabricated.
Also, whoever constructed this eRumor claims that some of the quotes are from a book by Obama titled Dreams of My Father. The actual title of Obama's book is Dreams From my Father.
Let's look at them one-at-a-time:
"I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."- Truth! This is an accurate quote from the introduction to Dreams from My Father. The book chronicles Obama's experience as the son of an African father and an American mother.
"I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."- Fiction! This quote does not exist in either of Obama's books.
"There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white." -Truth! This is a quote from Dreams from My Father. It it in a section in which Obama describes a job interview with a man in Chicago. Race had been a part of their discussion and the full quote is, "There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white---he'd said himself that was a problem."
It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names." Truth! This one is also from Dreams from My Father. It is from a section when Obama was a college student and wrestling with his identity including as an African-American. The quote describes his observation of what was required among his fellow students.
"I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela."- Truth! This is from Dreams from my Father. The more complete quote is, ""Yes, I’d seen weakness in other men— Gramps and his disappointments, Lolo and his compromise. But these men had become object lessons for me, men I might love but never emulate, white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela."
"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."- Fiction! This is a corruption of a quote from Obama's book The Audacity of Hope. It is from a section that talks about the concerns of immigrants who are American citizens.
Here is the accurate and more complete quote: "Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Advice for the future: don't let yourself be used to continue to spread twisted facts and smear half truths. Be more intelligent than that!
Here's the facts on Prop. 8 and why we're even voting on this again!!!
Proposition 8 is simple and straightforward. It contains the same 14 words that were previously approved in 2000 by over 61% of California voters: “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.”
Because four activist judges in San Francisco wrongly overturned the people’s vote, we need to pass this measure as a constitutional amendment to RESTORE THE DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE as a man and a woman.
Proposition 8 is about preserving marriage; it’s not an attack on the gay lifestyle. Proposition 8 doesn’t take away any rights or benefits of gay or lesbian domestic partnerships. Under California law, “domestic partners shall have the same rights, protections, and benefits” as married spouses. (Family Code § 297.5.) There are NO exceptions. Proposition 8 WILL NOT change this.
YES on Proposition 8 does three simple things:
It restores the definition of marriage to what the vast majority of California voters already approved and human history has understood marriage to be.
It overturns the outrageous decision of four activist Supreme Court judges who ignored the will of the people.
It protects our children from being taught in public schools that “same-sex marriage” is the same as traditional marriage.
Proposition 8 protects marriage as an essential institution of society. While death, divorce, or other circumstances may prevent the ideal, the best situation for a child is to be raised by a married mother and father.
The narrow decision of the California Supreme Court isn’t just about “live and let live.” State law may require teachers to instruct children as young as kindergarteners about marriage. (Education Code § 51890.) If the gay marriage ruling is not overturned, TEACHERS COULD BE REQUIRED to teach young children there is no difference between gay marriage and traditional marriage.
We should not accept a court decision that may result in public schools teaching our kids that gay marriage is okay. That is an issue for parents to discuss with their children according to their own values and beliefs. It shouldn’t be forced on us against our will.
Some will try to tell you that Proposition 8 takes away legal rights of gay domestic partnerships. That is false. Proposition 8 DOES NOT take away any of those rights and does not interfere with gays living the lifestyle they choose.
However, while gays have the right to their private lives, they do not have the right to redefine marriage for everyone else.
CALIFORNIANS HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR SAME-SEX MARRIAGE. If gay activists want to legalize gay marriage, they should put it on the ballot. Instead, they have gone behind the backs of voters and convinced four activist judges in San Francisco to redefine marriage for the rest of society. That is the wrong approach.
Voting YES on Proposition 8 RESTORES the definition of marriage that was approved by over 61% of voters. Voting YES overturns the decision of four activist judges. Voting YES protects our children.
Liberals continue to try to thwart the will of the people to their own shame, stooping to new lows to promote their devious, degenerate, demeaning, dehumanizing, demoralizing, perverted, agenda!
Prop 8 has nothing to do with the seperation of church and state. It has every thing to do with whats right. Not allowing the thinking and will of the few to force their agenda on the majority! We live in a republic last I heard! WE know some would and are trying change it! Legislating from the bench. This is why we're here in the first place!
fned, I enjoyed your blog. There are at least a few educated Texans left. I can even pronounce a two syllable word. The Dixie Chicks were right about DUMBYA. S Palin is a Dick Chaney in drag and another Fascist. Socialism! better than Facisiam and the destruction of our Constitution. Uncle D
Sarah Palin is a frightening puppet, too stupid to even comment on.
I will be teaching my son that gay marriage and straight marriage ARE the same thing. It's about love, and love has no boundaries, to suggest that love between a homosexual couple is different than that of the love of a heterosexual couple is just plain ignorant. NO to prop 8 and let's educate our children to be accepting and loving, not full of hate for someone who might be different than you are.
doh her! :s if they win... it would be frightening! You got a good point with all the reasons you've already mentioned why you wont be voting for her. Oh, plus, she does laugh like a fool (ok, lame reason, but true, it is like the Alaskan Beavis!!)

- She can’t recognize she’s being pranked by a phony “Foreign Leader”, even after said learder mentions how good his wife is in bed and compliments SP for being featured in “Hustler”
